Experience the Galleries
Fairfield's Art Galleries and venues are multifunctional spaces where you can enjoy beautiful art work, have a cup of tea, and take in some live entertainment. Most of the businesses in the downtown area have a designated space to showcase works of art.
One might discover a small gallery area in the corner of a bank, or a historic building with a large remodeled section. Whether you are looking for handmade pottery or if your taste is for abstract or classical art, you can find it all at Fairfield's galleries or at Fairfield's 1st Fridays Art Walk.
Art Walk Galleries (listed alphabetically)
Beautiful oak floors and high ceilings provide a backdrop for artist Kris Kufner's oil paintings. Three large gallery spaces, located on the square, also feature a rotating show of local artists.
Founded in 1966 to foster art in Fairfield and the surrounding area, the FAA is a membership non-profit organization. This Art Association curates exhibits year around in the FACC. The Main Gallery features works of Iowa, regional, national amp; international artists, and the Corridor Gallery presents the FAA "Permanent Collection" featuring well known Iowa Artists since the 1960's. There is also a "Fairfield Artists' Studio Gallery" where local artists can sell original art work. A spacious Studio Workshop provides regular art classes for children and adults, beginners and professional artists in a variety of media.
This large gallery features museum quality contemporary artists and is an integral part of the cultural life of the Fairfield and Eastern Iowa art scene. In addition to group and individual shows, ICON conducts workshops and lectures.
This small, well designed gallery on the second floor just off the square showcsaes smaller works from sculptures to paintings to jewelry and more.
Art Venues (listed alphabetically)
This charming cafe in converted industrial space has spacious wall areas for the display of paintings and drawings and photography. Located six blocks from the town square, this venue frequently hosts musicians and films.
This venue attracts large crowds for 1st Fridays Art Walk and usually features music and performances throughout the evening. A large retail store on the square, there are three large gallery areas in the main room, suitable for both two and three dimensional art.

On the corner of Main & Broadway, this Real Estate office has several gallery areas available for paintings, drawings and photography.
This popular frame shop and gallery on square, has a large selection of limited edition prints. The large wall space showcases two dimensional art and occasionally exhibits sculpture shows as well.
An ideal location for guest artisits, this well appointed gallery space is located in a separate area of bank with space for two or three dimensional art.
A charming historic hotel just off the square has a gallery space in the lobby, and a small separate gallery just off the lobby.
This second floor venue features three large gallery areas including the main dance hall space, suitable for two and three dimensional art. This venue attracts good sized crowds for special events, concerts, and group functions.
